Common Litanies

These are ritual phrases that benefit followers who recite them. The energy provided from the cruciform will be used upon using these, which will return over time. Each cruciform is different based on your rank. All ranks receive access to the common litanies, and you will gain access to more as you climb the ranks of the faith.

• Acolytes, Agrolytes, Custodians, and other ordinary believers have 50 Energy
• Preacher has 80 Energy
• Inquisitor has 100 Energy

Soul Hunger	Litany of pilgrims, relieves you of some of your hunger but also gives a small ammount of toxins.	Panem nostrum cotidianum da nobis hodie
Entreaty	Call for help, this can be heard by other believers.	Deus meus ut quid dereliquisti me
Reveal Adversaries	Gives you information about your environment. Most of the time it tells you about roaches and other aggressive monsters and traps. Very rarely it can reveal to you that someone near you is a carrion.	Et fumus tormentorum eorum ascendet in saecula saeculorum: nec habent requiem die ac nocte, qui adoraverunt bestiam, et imaginem ejus, et si quis acceperit caracterem nominis ejus.
Cruciform Sense	Very short litany to identify Mekhane followers. Targets individuals directly in front of caster or being grabbed by caster.	Et si medio umbrae.
Revelation	A person close to you will have a vision that could increase their sanity... or that's what you hope will happen.	Patris ostendare viam.

Group Litanies

Available to all followers of Mekhane, These are litanies that become more powerful the more faithful complete the ritual with you. For group litanies, one person (usually a preacher or acolyte) will lead the ritual, reciting each line of the ritual in order. Faithful nearby will repeat the line back, then the leader will move onto the next line

Biology	Boosts Biology stat by 3 + 1 for each participant.

Toughness	Boosts Toughness stat by 3 + 1 for each participant.
Crusade	Reveal crusade litanies to disciples. Depends on participants amount.
Sanctify	Sanctify the land you tread.

Priest Litanies

These litanies are usable by Preachers and Acolytes.

Divine Guidance	Reveals the list of structures you can construct with the 'Manifestation' ritual, selecting one will reveal the materials required to build it.	Dirige me in veritate tua, et doce me, quia tu es Deus salvator meus, et te sustinui tota die.
Manifestation	Once you have gathered the necessary materials and laid them where you wish to construct your structure, perform this ritual to command the Angels to construct it.	Omnia autem quae arguuntur a lumine manifestantur omne enim quod manifestatur lumen est.
Epiphany	Mekhane's principal sacrament is a ritual of baptism and merging with the Core Implant. A body, relieved of clothes should be placed on NeoTheology's special altar.	In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus sancti.
Reincarnation	A reunion of a spirit with it's new body, ritual of activation of a Core Implant, lying on the body. The process requires a child of Mekhane's special altar on which a body stripped of clothes is to be placed.	Vetus moritur et onus hoc levaverit
Commitment	Litany which will command a cruciform to connect to the chest of new human. After that, you can activate the cruciform and baptize someone or connect a soul to new a body. It causes damage to the chest and some bloodloss.	Unde ipse Dominus dabit vobis signum
Deprivation	Litany which will command cruciform to detach from chest. It's important, because it's the most simple way to remove a cruciform from a corpse. It doesn't need an altar to be used, only a dead body.	Et revertatur pulvis in terram suam unde erat et spiritus redeat ad Deum qui dedit illum
Asacris	Litany that will remove any upgrades from the believer. Almost useless, but can be used by Inquistiors to remove the current Preacher. But also, Preacher can use it to make some of believers safer by removing the Crusader upgrade.	A caelo usque ad centrum
Pounding Whisper	Gives a temporary increase to the "Mechanic" stat to everyone who hears you. This buff will stay for ten minutes.	Vocavitque nomen eius Noe dicens iste consolabitur nos ab operibus et laboribus manuum nostrarum in terra cui maledixit Dominus
Revelation of Secrets	Gives a temporary increase to the "Cognition" stat to everyone who hears you. This buff will stay for ten minutes.	Quia Dominus dat sapientiam et ex ore eius scientia et prudentia
Lisp of Vitae	Gives a temporary increase to the "Biology" stat to everyone who hears you. This buff will stay for ten minutes.	Ecce ego obducam ei cicatricem et sanitatem et curabo eos et revelabo illis deprecationem pacis et veritatis
Canto of Courage	Gives a temporary increase to the "Robustness" and "Toughness" stats to everyone who hears you. This buff will stay for ten minutes.	Huic David ad te Domine clamabo Deus meus ne sileas a me nequando taceas a me et adsimilabor descendentibus in lacum
Commitment to Determination	Gives a temporary increase to the "Vigilance" stat to everyone who hears you. This buff will stay for ten minutes	Cor meum et caro mea, potest deficere, sed non in viribus Deus cordis mei et pars mea Deus in aeternum
Atonement	Imparts extreme pain on the target disciple, but does no actual harm. Use this to enforce Church doctrine on your flock.	Piaculo sit <target>!
Baptismal Record	Prints a Church Record of people who are baptized, that is to say, tells you all the Christians on the ship.	Memento nomina...

Usage Within the Church

The Church allows for many different varying rituals that all encompass the same general belief and feelings. However, if they were to have some uniformity, it would have to be in their practicing of the different virtues. Different Preachers from those on old, recycled ships like the NEV Northern Light to the ones in the beautiful halls of New Rome use these rituals in some right. They are used for their ability to both deliver propaganda, instruct the faithful, and for powerful group prayers from the ritual book.

The rituals are often done weekly in giant places such as New Rome and daily in smaller places and aboard vessels. The goal is always to wear the face of the Virtue and keep yourself pure and free of sin through it.

Utilizing the Rituals

To utilize the rituals well, you will need to think of some words and lessons on the fly. The rituals below are templates for what you can do for practicing a virtue, however they are not absolute and you can always try to make your own, if creative enough. These should be tools for roleplay, and should also be a gateway for teaching Acolytes the basics of being a Preacher if you want to teach one ICly.

"What Am I Without Mekhane?"

Virtue: Diligence

• Preach to the flock about not being too dependant on Mekhane
• Exercise about self-efficiency without the Mekhane's direct help
• Pass around Cahors for faithful to sip and end meeting

"Taint Oneself None"

Virtue: Chastity, Temperance

• Preach to the flock about not tainting their body with narcotics or tattoos
• Use prayer that increases Biology to 'boost' the disciples' abilities to deprive others of such taint (Group or Priest or both works)
• Pass around Cahors for faithful to sip and end meeting saying the wine will keep them pure

"The One Who Laughs Is As Bad As That Who Mocks"

Virtue: Humility

• Preach to the flock about staying humble and respectful to Holy Authority (Mekhane and whatever the Church says)
• Say church propaganda about Mekhane being perfect and holy
• Use prayer that increases Cognition to boost the disciples' thinking (Priest section recommended, a perpetual Cognition buff isn't that good otherwise)
• Pass around Cahors for faithful to sip and end meeting

"A Man Who Cannot Wait For The Future Has No Place In It"

Virtue: Patience

• Preach about being patient, seeing things through, and thinking ahead
• Say church propaganda about everything the church doing being a means to the end of keeping humanity blessed by Mekhane
• Use prayer that increases Cognition to boost the disciples' thinking (Priest section recommended, a perpetual Cognition buff isn't that good otherwise)
• Pass around Cahors for faithful to sip and end meeting

"The First Step To Saving Yourself, Is To Save Others"

Virtue: Charity, Kindness

• Preach about being kind and forgiving to others; Teach to reserve conflicts as an absolute last resort
• Say church propaganda about the church being like this and any follower not like this should be reported
• Amass funds or something material (such as Cahors shots or beneficial plants like poppies/tomatoes) to gift to non-believers
